Welcome to Chiller City, the world's largest known selection of previously owned recirculating chillers, temperature baths, heat exchangers, and temperature forcing equipment, specializing in Neslab Chillers and temperature baths.
We provide factory trained service on ALL Neslab and many other temperature and refrigeration products. We offer fully waranteed on-site and depot service as well as air to water and water to air cooling conversions.
Several
factors are important in choosing an appropriate chiller for you particular
use. Among the most
important
are:
Heat removal Capacity
If
this is not known it can be easily measured or derived. You must
know the following, either from manufacturers
specifications
or by measuring; Flow, Temperature In, Temperature out.
Once you have this information the formula in SAE units is as follows:
(Temp
In - Temp Out) (in deg F) * Flow (in Gal/Min) * Specific Heat of Liquid
(1 for water) * lbs liquid/gallon
(8.33
for water) = BTU/hr needed.
Chiller
City recommends a "safety factor" of 50-100%
Flow required to remove heat
This
is the most difficult to determine as it requires in-depth knowledge of
the surface area for heat transfer as well
as
the material heat transfer characteristics. The manufacturer of the
equipment is the best source for this
information.
Pressure required to provide adequate flow
This
is most easily measured with a simple pressure gauge and a source of water.
Normally,
these parameters will be specified by the manufacturer of the equipment
requiring cooling. If
you
need help determining these requirements please contact us.
Why
buy a refurbished Chiller?
Chiller City is the outgrowth of many years of experience in the semiconductor
industry. While
technology in many areas make equipment only a few years old obsolete,
refrigeration technology has
remained relatively stable. This makes a refurbished chiller or temperature
bath an excellent value.
Some advances, such as environmentally friendly refrigerants or newer controllers
may be incorporated
into units during the refurbishing process.
Why buy from Chiller City?
We stock hundreds of chillers and baths by Manufacturers such as Neslab,
Fisher Scientific,
Cole-Parmer, Branson, Mc Quay, Temptronic, Tenney, Thermotron, Tek-Temp
and others. Many have
never been used. All are guaranteed to meet or exceed original manufacturers
specifications. Every
item sold includes a 90 day parts & labor warranty, subject to our
standard Terms & Conditions. Items
also may be purchased with extended warranty. Neslab Inc. service
contracts may also be arranged if
desired.
Because of our large stock, we can often deliver equipment with shorter
lead times than the original
manufacturer. Also, our extensive customization capabilities allow
us to extend the application range of
many units.
We offer pre-sales support to make sure you get the right unit for your
application. Additionally, every
unit we sell also includes FREE lifetime telephone support whether you
have questions about hookup,
operation, or applications.
Other Services
In addition to providing factory trained service on ALL Neslab and many
other temperature and
refrigeration products,we offer fully warranted on-site and depot service
as well as air to water and
water to air cooling conversions and conversions to environmentally friendly
refrigerants.
Chiller
City also purchases and takes trade-ins of used temperature related equipment,
especially Neslab
brand. This provides an economical and environmentally friendly alternative
for equipment that is no
longer needed.
